The Collection De Luca is made from precious materials donated in 2006 to the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art by Mr. Francesco De Luca, expert and local history enthusiast. The collection is divided into two sections:

– The first displays artefacts ranging from the proto-historic period to the modern age (obsidian, brooches, necklaces, rings, encolpion , crosses, etc.) and have been found in various funds of Santa Severina, with the exception of those in the protohistoric and classic period from the territory of Strongoli, the ancient Petelia;

– the second presents seals, medals, coins and paper currency ranging from a period of Ancient Greece until the last century.

This collection is a set of great archaeological and numismatic value because it reveals passage, in our area, of different cultures and above all attests, unequivocally, the most important Byzantine presence in Sant
